The Scott County Medical Society is a 501(c)6 organization & professional office serving physicians in Iowa's Scott County. Our members practice in every specialty, are dedicated to providing the best quality of care to patients and to protecting the health of the community.

The Scott County Medical Society provides valuable educational opportunities for physician members, working actively to ensure that social trends and their impact on the health of the community are assimilated into best practices. Participation in community initiatives that deal with health problems is an important part of our mission.

• SCMS provides services tailored to address a variety of professional needs including continuing medical education programs offered at regular general membership meetings.
• SCMS provides a forum for physicians to address concerns with their peers, operated by physicians for physicians.
• SCMS advocate on behalf of Scott County physicians at the local, state, and national levels and maintain close ties with Congressional delegations, state legislators, and state medical societies to advance key goals.
• SCMS physician members and their offices have access to a medical society office staff dedicated to providing information and resources for any question or information needed.
• SCMS have well-established resources for people with quality of care concerns.  Office staff problem-solve with callers to restore lines of communication between patient and physician, thus preventing simple misunderstandings from escalating into more serious situations.
• SCMS maintains an online physician directory as a member benefit.

SCMS serves as a local resource on health care related issues and works closely with other organizations to help mobilize the medical community in confronting important public health concerns.
