SCMS History
For 63 years, the SCMS has served the physicians of Scott County. Formed and organized on August 2, 1962, IMS began in Davenport with the goal of improving medical practice, education, and public health in the region. While we have made great strides, and so much has changed over the past six decades, our goals remain very similar. |
Our commitment to SCMS members is to provide:
- Tailored continuing medical education programs to address a variety of professional needs at regular general membership meetings.
- Forums for physicians to address concerns with their peers, operated by physicians for physicians.
- Advocacy on behalf of Scott County physicians at the local, state, and national levels and maintain close ties with Congressional delegations, state legislators, and state medical societies to advance key goals.
- Access to a medical society office staff dedicated to providing information and resources for any question or information needed.
- Connection to physician comradery through events like Walk With a Doc, Book Club, and more!
