Book Club Meetings The Scott County Medical Society Book Club will meet next on June 1. The book for this month is Born a Crime: Stories of a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah. In this #1 New York Times Best Seller, Noah recounts his experience growing up during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poign-ant and comical. Join the SCMS Book Club with this compelling and entertaining read that can be covered from cover to cover in under 9 hours. Sign up via https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SCMSbookclubJune or email qcmso@aol.com to join them on June 1, 7-8 pm, as they review, discuss, and share. |
